We offer a broad range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels to challenge students’ perceptions of the past and the present since 1993. Our both undergraduate and graduate programs offer courses on a variety of themes, topics, and historical periods. The department’s faculty members in general study and teach about the history of the Middle East, Central Asia as well as the Mediterranean world, the pre-modern and modern history of Asia and Europe. Our faculty are dedicated to excellence in the classroom and to mentoring a diverse and accomplished group of undergraduate and graduate students. The department is also a hub for interdisciplinary teaching and research at the post-graduate level. We have close links to a variety of academic units on campus, including International Studies, Faculty of Theology and department of sociology.
